Chairman & CEO of PwC Cyprus (2012-2021); responsible for the strategy, operations, and day to day leadership of this $95M business. PwC is the biggest professional services organisation in Cyprus, with 1100 professionals, it is one of the biggest and most successful employers in the country.
Member of the PwC EMEA Leadership Team (2014 - 2021), representing 15 European territories, active contributor to the direction of PwC’s $16Bn EMEA business.
In addition to commercial success, key achievements of CEO tenure included: technological transformation; a major programme to drive digital upskilling; readying for the future of work; improving client satisfaction and referral scores; driving the inclusion & diversity agenda; achieving Investors in People Platinum accreditation; launching new services including funds administration and investment advisory; developing the data analytics, Cyber security and AI capabilities; launching a PwC Experience Centre and setting out a net zero by 2030 action plan.
Achieved with a focus on quality and excellence, in a decade that started with the climax of the financial crises in Cyprus and ended with the global pandemic and was marked by major changes in the regulatory environment. Received the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce & Industry Business Leader Award in 2021 and the Junior Achievement Europe Leadership Award in 2021.
Before assuming the CEO position, he was an elected member of the firm's Executive Board, the Banking, Capital Markets & FS leader and the HC Leader (2007-2011). Member of the management team for the Assurance of PwC in continental Europe (2007-2008). Audit partner in the FS industry group (2001-2011).
Comfortable interacting with regulators, public officials, boards, and senior executives, with a successful track record leading a large organisation, chairing boards, and acting as a sounding board and trusted advisor, often on complex issues through crises and uncertainty. Originally an auditor by background, earlier experience concentrated in the banking and FS industry whilst earlier in his career in energy and manufacturing.
